The magazine seemed like a good way to finalize the semester. It is an assignment that can be done with just a minor bit of time, but at the same time takes effort, and is a little fun. The magazine can also be a time that students can learn to work with other students and take positions and get different areas of the assignment done. I did not dread the assignment when we were introduced to what we had to do. I do not have a problem working with other students and I do not have a problem with taking a leadership role and getting things done.
The assignment was a lot simpler to do with the ease of having partners in the same class. If students were made to work with students from other classes but in the same area of interest, students would have to set up a schedule with times to meet to work on the project.
Brittany Edwards helped a lot with the leadership roles in our group. She took the role to put everyone’s article in place, and took time to make the magazine look more than presentable. Everyone in our group did a good job with working and contributing to the magazine and every group member did their part by finishing their article on time.
I feel like there was a good amount of time given to work on the magazine. It was very simple to work on the assignment during class and we had enough time to work on the magazine and meet during the week. I feel like the magazine could have been worth more towards your grade than it was, but that is because I enjoyed working on it, and it wasn’t as hard to work on as a research paper. I believe other classmates did well on their magazines too. We were the last group in class and everyone else seemed like they had their stuff together. Overall, I believe the magazine assignment should be continued, but maybe as a final project.
